The pay listed above is encompassing of a total range, final compensation offered will be dependent upon several factors to include but not limited to years of experience and education within the position and industry.

Scope of Work:



The primary purpose of this position is to perform comprehensive planning, land use planning, site planning, and design review for the USAF Academy



Responsibilities:





  • The purpose of this position is to assist in performing the comprehensive planning (Air Force Instruction 32-7062), land use planning, site planning and design review.


  • A successful candidate will be able to assist in the collection, assimilation, development and manage land use planning and mission requirements for the USAFA.


  • Maintain and update base comprehensive planning documents (i.e., Installation Development Plan (IDP) and associated Area Development Plans (ADPs),).


  • Prepare and coordinate airfield and airspace waiver packages for approval.


  • Prepare and assist in briefings, meetings, design charrettes, etc. involving base development issues


  • Review requests and process approval documents to ensure that new facilities are consistent with land use plans and integrated into the IDP and base standards


  • Maintain community planning trackers, reports, and Air Force databases


  • Ensure facility projects conform to Installation Facility Standards (IFS).


  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:





  • Community planners shall have a 4-year degree in Community Planning, Community Development, Architecture (emphasis in community planning), or other planning-related area.


  • Entry Level 0-3 years of experience.


  • American Institute of Community Planners (AICP) certification is optional.






  • Must possess analytical abilities necessary to manage complex administrative, organizational, and contract matters.


  • Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel) required.


  • Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.


  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.


  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.


  • For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy.


  • Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.


  • Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.


  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.


  • Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.


  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.


  • Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.


  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.


  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.


  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.


  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.


  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
