Job Posting: Level 2/3 Audio-Video Technology Installer
Description:
Are you passionate about cutting-edge audiovisual technology? Join our team as a Level 2/3 Audio-Video Technology Installer! You’ll apply your specialized knowledge and skills to install, support, troubleshoot, and repair AV systems in technology-enhanced facilities. Your work will support teaching, learning, research, and patient care, ensuring a seamless technology experience for all users in classrooms, conference rooms, offices, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Configuration (25%): Layout systems, pull and terminate cables, install and configure AV devices (video, audio, control, network, computing, etc.), and manage equipment racks. Assist with moving supplies and tools, and ensure job sites are clean and organized.
- Shop Management (25%): Keep the shop clean and organized, order new supplies, receive and inventory equipment, stage equipment for installation jobs, and adhere to timelines and schedules.
- Administrative Tasks (15%): Assist with system design, ordering, receiving, inventory, billing, and RMA processes.
- Maintenance & Support (15%): Perform maintenance activities, provide ongoing user and system support, update and debug device software/firmware, and work to reduce system downtime and trouble calls.
- Continuous Learning (10%): Stay updated on current AV technology trends and complete required training, including online manufacturer certifications and hands-on training.
- Other Tasks (10%): Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Top Skills: Audiovisual, Cabling, Installation, Video Conferencing, CTS, Audio, Extron, Crestron, Biamp, Audinate, QSC, Networking, Audio Engineer, Low Voltage, Telecom, Hardware, Tesira, Dante, Q-SYS.
- Level 2 Qualifications ($25-30/hr):1+ years of relevant experience in basic construction/technology installation.
- High School Diploma (college is a plus).
- Knowledge of hand/power tools, strong oral/written communication skills, PCs, networking, AV principles, and live events.
- Level 3 Qualifications ($28-34/hr):3-5+ years of relevant work experience (or equivalent combination of education).
- Advanced construction/technology installation experience.
- Potential certifications: CTS, Extron, Crestron, Q-SYS, Dante, Biamp, and other AV-related certifications.
