IT Configuration Manager - Military Veterans

Job Description
This position is for a Configuration Manager. You'll be the strategist who will gather information and working with the DBAs and Developer, you'll collaborate and build a database to gather ticketing stats and other key data. This will enable us to see key data and trends as well as equipment needs and help us with long range planning. Other CM duties are shown below. We need you and your strong expertise in this very exciting role!

The primary scope of duties is to coordinate and administer all Configuration Management activities, including formulating procedures for and executing the introduction of changes to engineering documents; and overseeing the review of released engineering change data and change documentation activities to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies.



The Configuration Manage shall leverage modern configuration, application, and life cycle-management tools and processes to maintain version control for software code, packages, libraries, containers, virtual machines, releases, and documents. Maintain ownership of the program's Configuration Management Plan, facilitate Configuration Control Boards, and support the establishment of the Configuration Management Library. Provide support for planning and producing a configuration control and management process that will assist with implementing and sustaining procedures for controlling modifications to baseline hardware, firmware, software, and documentation to ensure the protection of the Network infrastructure against improper modifications before, during, and after implementation. Provide support for planning and producing a process for reporting and recording changes to installed baseline equipment, equipment configuration specifications, and site locations.
Coordinate the interaction between engineering, integration team, logistics, and program management to ensure appropriate changes are documented.
The Configuration Manager shall, under the guidance of the Deputy Program Manager, be responsible performing the following duties:



  • Interface with the community, which includes project managers, developers, technical system owners and business system owners and serves as a resource for Release Management involvement on new projects and implementations.


  • Support developers, users, and the Quality Assurance team regarding code storage, builds, and movement of code from development through the test phases and into the production environment through automation.


  • Responsible for the build/deploy templates for automation within Release Management.


  • Maintain accurate documentation for all change control and version control processes.


  • Research, correct, and respond timely and accurately to issues.


  • Weigh business needs against change control concerns and articulates issues to management.


  • Promote approved software to test and production environments.


  • Support Customer Engineering Review Board and Configuration Control Board meetings and decisions.










  • Create reports and coordinate with the project team to resolve noted discrepancies.


  • Enforce and maintain Configuration Management Plans for different programs.


  • Develop, document, implement, and enforce procedures for using the CM environment.


  • Perform CM audits on the integrity of the software CM processes.


  • Manage the CI process to include but not limited to developing CIs and populating the ITSM database.


  • Assess project ticketing needs and make recommendations for best meeting those needs.


  • Create and implement CM plans to satisfy customer requirements. Train team members on CM processes and requirements. Identify and correct deviations from established processes.


  • Continuously evaluate how well CM plans are meeting customer needs. Suggest and implement refinements to the plans as needed.



Required Education, Experience, & Skills




  • 4 years of experience implementing, maintaining, and managing IT Configuration Management in a complex IT environment


  • Experience running Configuration Control Boards, meetings and other required briefings as directed by the government.


  • Knowledge of IT Configuration Management programs, techniques, processes, and procedures.


  • Knowledge of how software works in a production and test environment and how to structure and organize product deliverables.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $61830 - $105120

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
