Plumbing Mechanic - Military Veterans

Position Summary:

The Plumbing Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems on commercial construction sites. This individual will work closely with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings, in accordance with project specifications and local codes.



• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings to plan plumbing installations and layouts.



• Assemble, install, and repair plumbing systems, such as water supply, drainage, and gas piping systems.



• Perform testing and inspections of plumbing systems to ensure functionality and compliance with standards.



• Work with a variety of materials, including PVC, CPVC, copper, cast iron, and PEX piping.



• Coordinate with foremen, supervisors, and other trades to maintain project timelines and address any challenges.



• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.



• Troubleshoot plumbing issues and make necessary repairs or adjustments.



• Assist in material handling, including ordering, inventory, and staging for projects.



• Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices or less-experienced team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance.



• Strong understanding of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.



• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.



• Experience with a variety of piping materials and plumbing systems used in commercial construction.



• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.



• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.



• Strong physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and outdoors.



• Valid plumbing license or certification preferred, or willingness to obtain one if required.



• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on plumbing systems in office buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, or retail projects.



• Backflow certification or similar credentials.



• Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient plumbing practices.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
