Print Utility Technician - Day Shift - Military Veterans

Overview:
Purpose: To provide a safe work environment through proper training and communication. The Utility Technician will maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in the Automatic Core Cutter area as well as the Distilled Solvent and Parts Cleaning Rooms
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures while ensuring all team members work within the safety guidelines as established by Berry.
- Complete safety orientation and forklift certification training.
- Have a basic understanding of our product, customer specifications and visual inspection requirements.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrate basic math skills, both metric and standard.
- Demonstrate trouble-shooting skills.
- Understand proper record keeping procedures
- Understanding the use and functionality of Shop Floor for material handling.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret Job Discrete Routing Sheets and how to identify raw materials by part numbers.
- Properly train associates that use equipment in areas of responsibility.
- Understand usage of MSDS sheets.
- Ensure proper solvent and ink handling procedures are implemented and followed.
- Ensure proper hazardous waste handling procedures are implemented and followed.
- Effectively communicate and interact professionally with all people in the work environment.
- Assisting maintenance whenever necessary or required.
- Establish and maintain 5S and Operator Care Standards for Parts room, Core Cutter area and Distilled Solvent room
- Ensure Clean Parts are available for press room at all times.
- Ensure Core Cutter is properly maintained.
- Ensure Distilled Solvent room equipment is properly maintained.
- Support core cutting operation to supply raw material job requirements.
- Education: S. Diploma or GED
- Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a plant environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and the use of equipment. Strong mechanical, troubleshooting and mathematical aptitude and experience.
