This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.







As part of a small team, you will participate in the assembly and verification of space flight components on a Blue Origin spacecraft. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of a newly designed space tug through fabrication and delivery. This hands-on position requires experience in assembling and fabricating wire harnesses routing and assembling designs from models and Blueprints. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize the build sequence of applicable hardware and equipment. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required. Together, the teams will deliver the structures for carrying critical components into space.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:





  • Building a variety of different harnesses and often rapidly shift focus from project to project, requiring a flexible mentality.


  • Often assisting with new designs; working directly with engineering to determine standard processes and to vet new designs for improvement opportunities prior to production.


  • Provide feedback on new assemblies, identifying needed improvements to existing designs and improving or updating outdated designs.


  • Serve internal and external customers, across multiple systems and multiple platforms. Each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe, affordable, and regular human spaceflight.


  • A focus on safety, collaboration and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of humanity.


  • Contribute to lab 5s initiatives and process improvement projects.








Minimum Qualifications:





  • Familiarity with fabricating, inspecting, and repairing wire harness assemblies.


  • Prior experience with standard harnessing tools as well as measuring and layout of assembly. Experience with wire stripping, crimping, and splicing using both manual and automated processes.


  • Experience with using testing/trouble shooting tools such as a digital multi-meter, milli-ohm meter, insulation tester or Hi-Pot test equipment.


  • At least 8 years’ experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.


  • Ability to train others, lead and present metrics to leadership


  • Attention to detail and passion for space.


  • Familiarity with torqueing procedures, sizing fasteners and harness assembly/disassembly.


  • Experience and capability to interface with software systems such as Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Familiarity working with digital work order-based systems as well reading electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and dimensional layout drawings.


  • Able to lift 50 lbs.


  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.


  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum








Preferred Qualifications:





  • 10 years’ experience in launch vehicle harness systems, vehicle integration, testing and processing.


  • Experience with all types of solder termination and splicing.


  • Experience with on-vehicle repairs and working with different levels of cleanliness (Gross, Visual or clean room).


  • Experience working in a R&D within space, tech, or aviation.


  • Certification in and/or Knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection.


  • IPC 620/620 Space Addendum certifications as well as IPC J-STD certifications (past or present)
