Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Manager (Civil & Utilities) to join our team! In this role you will get to manage road and infrastructure projects from planning through execution, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to budgets, and timely delivery while coordinating with stakeholders and overseeing construction activities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Directs the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
- Track project timelines, budgets, and quality to ensure objectives are met and take corrective actions as needed.
- Verify that all project activities adhere to relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Oversee construction processes and site activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, preventing project delays or cost overruns.
Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
Ensures that the services of subcontractors and major construction equipment required by the project will be available at the appropriate time to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
Establishes assignments for Construction Superintendents for various work areas of construction operations, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary.
Conducts performance evaluations and recommends promotions and salary actions.
Manages the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals. Keeps alert to possible problem areas and takes preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.
Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher-level management and clients.
Ensures effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures, including labor relations policies.
Serves as the primary contact with client representatives, subcontractors, and government representatives for construction-related activities. Maintains strong client and community relations.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Minimum of 15 years of postgraduate experience, 10 years of which are experience on large infrastructure projects in the Middle East involving design and construction works.
In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, road design, and infrastructure construction methods
Proven ability to manage complex projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring, with a focus on achieving results on time and within budget.
Proficiency in project management software and engineering tools, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for effectively conveying technical information and managing stakeholder relationships.
Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate project teams, manage the consultant and contractor performance, and drive project success.
High level of accuracy in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and construction work to ensure quality and compliance.
Capability to identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and challenges in a dynamic work environment.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Specialized knowledge in emerging technologies and innovative methods in road and infrastructure design and construction.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PE (Professional Engineer), or similar credentials.
- Proven track record in managing high-budget or complex road and infrastructure projects.
- Advanced skills in project management and engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Primavera/
- Strong understanding of financial management, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to road and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to handle unexpected challenges and high-pressure situations with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
