Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Ground Element Responsible Engineer* to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) business unit is developing cutting edge technology that seamlessly analyzes, fuses, and distributes multi-domain information into command-and-control systems of systems to support all domains of war. The Ground Element Responsible Engineer in this role must possess experience and knowledge of ground system requirements, design, implementation, integration, and test and associated hardware and software solutions. They will be responsible for one or more of the following:
* Support technical planning, system integration, deployment/delivery, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for Ground subsystems.
* Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture
* Design and develop ground systems architectures, perform hardware/software integration and testing, certification and requirements analysis
* Trade studies, documenting architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings
* Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
* Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission planning solutions to meet platform mission objectives
* Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
* Developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
* Building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
* Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
A successful Ground Element Responsible Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Ground Element Responsible Engineer (T03) *
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
* Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
* Demonstrated experience in ground subsystems development for military aircraft weapon systems
* Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
Preferred Qualifications:
* Possess a DODD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP ,Security +
* Working knowledge of cyber security, STIGs and associated elements
* Experience with Communication Systems
* Experience with Cloud Technology
* Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
* Experience with supplier/subcontract management
* Experience with scheduling engineering activities
* Experience with Agile development
* An active Top Secret clearance

*Salary Range: *$95,300 - $142,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
