Clinical Assistant - Waltham Multidisciplinary Clinic | Boston Children's Hospital - Military Veterans

The new Waltham Multidisciplinary Clinic space will be one of two spaces where Boston Children's Hospital?s Centers of Excellence and Specialty Programs can see patients in a space that allows for collaborative, specialized, and comprehensive multidisciplinary care. The space will allow for two multidisciplinary clinics to run simultaneously. This department will see patients from various multidisciplinary programs and centers of excellence. The Waltham Multidisciplinary Clinic, Clinical Assistant will be responsible for: Works with interdisciplinary team including other clinical assistants, physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, child life specialist and administrative staff, etc. CAs will duel report to nursing in DoP for clinical competencies and Director of Operations for administrative functions. Scheduling, receiving and/or registering patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures. Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions. Identifies and reports unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse. Obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems. Answering, screening and routing telephone calls and performing general office support tasks. Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic). Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed. 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8:00a-4:30p or 8:30a-5:00p. Location: 9 Hope Ave, Waltham, MA 02453 To qualify, you must have: 1-year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation. A HS Diploma or equivalent. The ability to: exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees. Good communication skills. The ability to work on a team.
