Testing and Support Services Coordinator (ESDS Coordinator) - ( 240001PD ) The University of Maryland Baltimore's Office of Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS) seeks an energetic, hands-on, committed individual who enjoys working collaboratively to serve as a Contingent Category I Testing and Support Services Coordinator (ESDS Coordinator) . This position will be a 12 week contract. Reporting to the Director of Educational Support and Disability Services, this position will be responsible for overseeing the UMB Testing Center for UMB students. The position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the testing center for UMB students with testing accommodations. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage highly sensitive, confidential information in a compassionate, discreet manner while executing complex administrative tasks, coordinating accommodations, offering direct academic support to students with disabilities, and maintaining academic integrity throughout the operations of the testing center. UMB is a public university and constituent institution of the University System of Maryland. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland. *Contingent Category I (CI) employees are temporary employees. CI employees are eligible for subsidized health and prescription drug benefit coverage but are not eligible for paid leave. Essential Functions Within established policies and procedures, the Coordinator will perform professional and administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Office of Educational Support and Disability Services, including: Manage day-to-day operations of the Testing Center including ESDS Testing Center exam schedule, test proctor work schedules, maintain Testing Center equipment, inquiries, and administrative tasks. Work with UMB students to coordinate and implement their individualized exam accommodations appropriate to the student's disability assessment, federal and state regulations, and best practices in higher education. Monitor the testing space and proctoring policies to ensure security, fairness, confidentiality, integrity, and ethics are preserved. Communicate and collaborate with appropriate faculty and staff members, in compliance with privacy regulations, to address student exam accommodations within the testing center. Administer, proctor, and transmit exams following program specific policies and procedures. Coordinate individual student concerns related to testing accommodations, and problem solve as needed Assist the Director with designing, maintaining, and updating testing center and educational access policies and procedures. Report any misconduct accordingly within established procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as disability services, education, social work, or counseling. Experience: Relevant work experience that includes proficiency with student support or disability services in an academic or higher education environment preferred. Two years work experience preferred. Supervisory Experience: N/A. Certification/Licensure: N/A. Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Highly organized, paying close attention to detail. Able to exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Ability to provide appropriate solutions for challenges as they arise. Ability to supervise student employees who are hired as student testing proctors. Ability to communicate and work with various UMB Schools on the expansion of the testing center to serve UMB students. Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 and appropriate sections as they apply to higher education. Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects. Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of services and processes. Familiar with accessible technology - both hardware and software. Commitment to collaborative work with a number of constituents both on and off campus. Commitment to collaborative work in support of students in the context of the department and university missions and goals.
