Responsibilities

As an Telecom Wireline Operations Director, you are responsible for overseeing a business unit in the construction of telecommunications infrastructure and buried and aerial cable placement to meet customer expectations and designated timelines. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Develop positive business relationships to diagnose and understand current and potential customer needs
  • Lead and direct business unit operations staff in the effective and safe execution of projects
  • Establish clear and frequent channels of communication with the customers
  • Manage team to meet budgets and schedules and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Generate and control revenues and costs to deliver a profit to MasTec, with ultimate P&L responsibility for the business unit
  • Make staffing decisions, train new employees, and develop employee performance
  • Prepare and present detailed construction cost estimates and documentation
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
Qualifications

About You:
  • You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
  • You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
  • Have a bachelor's degree in Construction Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study. (Or equivalent work history)
  • Have 10 years of total relevant experience, including previous supervisory experience.
  • Experienced in managing divisional or department budgets.
  • Experienced in managing projects to completion.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and upper management.
