The Embedded Clinician position is a new and exciting opportunity in the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) department at the University of Kansas. Working closely with the CAPS clinical team, they will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and well-being of students by providing counseling services, supervision and development of outreach and well-being programming. Embedded Clinicians spend their time within an identified college or department providing clinical, outreach, programming and consultation services. Any remaining time is spent within the central CAPS location. Embedded Clinician staff have a unique opportunity to develop ongoing collaborative working relationships with faculty and staff and develop an expertise within their embedded area. With an office in close proximity to the department it supports, these positions will also contribute to CAPS functional areas, including: Individual and group counseling; psychological assessment; developmental and crisis counseling; case management Development of and participation in outreach programming Consultation with faculty staff, parents, and others General administrative responsibilities Training and supervision of CAPS clinical trainees Other duties as assigned CAPS is a member of the Division of Student Affairs, where "We make learning possible." Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is comprised of the Clinical Service and Campus Assistance, Resource, and Education (CARE) teams. We are an interdisciplinary team of professionals that work collaboratively to meet the wide range of mental health needs of a global student community. The goal of the Counseling Center is to provide students with clinical, educational and outreach-based services that benefit the mental health and well-being of all Jayhawks. Services are primarily short-term in nature, and referrals are made to other helping professionals and community agencies as appropriate.
