We have the immediate need for a Operations Support Specialist IV to contribute to the mission of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). LANL is a multidisciplinary research institution dedicated to enhancing national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.

What You Will Do
This position is responsible for oversight of over-arching mission deliverables for construction operations, including the quality, accuracy, efficiency and successful completion of the deliverable. This includes being responsible for the safety of the work and ensuring it is done in compliance with Laboratory policies and other regulatory requirements. Responsible for the organization of operations in the areas of construction, field controls and Contracts Administration. Ensures the proper coordination of the various groups within the Construction project and ensures that they are properly staffed. Provides timely group support services to assist the various construction projects. Ensures consistent application of construction engineering standards and practices between jobs. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring documentation is adequate and developing when it is not, installing and improving processes, managing budgets, providing oversight for other workers and subcontractors, and effectively communicating with stakeholders and customers, and ultimately being responsible for the end-to-end success of the set of deliverables.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering or Technical Discipline or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 15+ years supporting construction.
  • 10+ years on DOE projects.
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.

Education
A recognized bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline or combination of education and relevant experience. Post graduate course work may be expected. Professional certifications may be expected. 15 or more years' experience in the construction field and 10 years of experience supporting the DOE mission.

Desired Qualifications:
  • DOE Plutonium Facility experience.
