Job Summary

The Harbert College of Business Operations Department is currently accepting applications for a Student Employee to perform a variety of office and event support duties within the Operations Department in support of all departments and centers in the Harbert College of Business.

Essential Functions

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting with set-up and breakdown for events,
  • Clean-up and light custodial duties,
  • Will monitor the facility's conditions and grounds to ensure janitorial and other maintenance is performed as necessary.
  • Move and lift objects of less than 25 lbs.
  • With assistance, move or lift objects of 50 lbs. or less,
  • Move furniture to relocated places for events or office needs.
  • Pack items for moving or storage.
  • Periodic inventorying of classroom furniture and chairs and noting maintenance issues.
  • Weekly delivery of classroom supplies for marker pens, erasers, and whiteboard cleaners to all classrooms and team rooms.
  • Provide gameday support for Harbert College of Business,
  • Move linens and place them in storage or deliver them to a designated site.
  • Delivering forms and financial documents to Ingram, Quad, Martin, or other University offices.
  • May include other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Arrive promptly for shifts, dressed appropriately, presenting a professional appearance, and enthusiastic team attitude.



Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student.

Preferred Qualifications

Undergraduate student in HCOB.

Pay Rate

$13.00/hour

    Welcome to Auburn University! 

     

    Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.

    Today, Auburn is one of the few universities to carry the torch as a land, sea and space grant university. Our fall 2014 semester enrollment was 25,912. Our students can choose from more than 140 degree options in 13 schools and colleges at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
