Responsibilities
- Orders supplies, materials, or equipment.
- Prepares purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
- Responds to supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Reviews requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
- Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports and price lists.
- Tracks the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
- Checks shipments to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that the goods meet specifications.
- Compares supplier invoices with quotes to verify accuracy.
- Verify data from invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Obtain information from individuals needed to complete purchase requisitions.
- Use computers to enter, access or retrieve data.
- Maintain records, reports, or files.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two (2) or more years purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MS Office Proficiency.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations.
- Highly skilled communicator both verbal and written.
- Excellent basic math skills
- Enclosed office space with daily exposure to manufacturing and warehouse environment; must be able to wear all required PPE protection.
- Equal amounts of time spent sitting, standing, and walking.
