The Pre-Weigh Operator is responsible for performing and assisting co-workers in the warehousing and sub-division of chemical raw materials; complying with all GMP and safety practices and standards; and maintaining housekeeping standards throughout the pre-weigh area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the pre-weighing of raw materials for the Compounding department and ensuring chemicals are free of contaminants.
- Perform subdivision of chemicals under strict adherence to formula and hygienic standards.
- Provide complete and accurate documentation of work performed in a timely manner.
- Sample materials for testing and disposition.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure standards are met.
- Manage raw material receipts.
- Store and stage inventory for pre-weigh operations.
- Move materials within or adjacent to warehouse areas to avoid delays due to material shortages during production.
- Wrap and accurately tag raw materials pallets with the placard and reservation area.
- Responsible for the operation, control, monitoring and troubleshooting of pre-weigh equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
- Report decisions, problems, and questions to the Manager in a timely manner.
- Comply with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a safe working environment and participate in area safety training and inspections.
- Report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, quality standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as well as maintain general housekeeping standards throughout the pre-weigh area.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience
- 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment handling chemical raw materials.
- Ability to operate scales & various material handling the equipment.
- Powered Industrial Truck experience a plus.
Skills
- Good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures or government regulations. Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

- Ability to operate various processing equipment.
- PIT certification is required.
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
- Arrives at meetings prepared and on time.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to learn and apply for Guest Supply technology software and programs.
