Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF) Vacancy ID: NF0008715 Salary Range: Dependent on Experience Position Summary/Description: The Applied Biomechanics Laboratory (abl.bme.unc.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Research Scientist position to help lead an interdisciplinary and cross-institutional effort to advance the use of High-Speed Biplane Fluoroscopy in studying the musculoskeletal biomechanics of functional human movement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute a strong technical skillset in biplane fluoroscopy to a collaborative team spanning Biomedical Engineering, Exercise Science, and Orthopedics. There will also be opportunities for the successful candidate to generate novel lines of research in support of their own training and professional development. . The position is funded for an initial period of 2 years with anticipated extension contingent on continued training and professional development of the research scientist, including involvement of the successful candidate on collaborative proposals and fellowship applications associated with biplane fluoroscopy research projects. Education and Experience: Completion of an M.S. degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or completion of a Ph.D. in an area related to engineering, biomedical imaging, orthopedics, or biomechanics. Essential Skills: Strong technical and hands-on experience incorporating biplane fluoroscopy/video radiography in human subjects research.
