RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Summary: The Barberton Controller under the direction of the Barberton Site Manager is responsible to direct and manage accounting and finance for the Barberton Wheel Plant & Cast House.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Management of 1 direct report (Financial Analyst)
- Facilitate monthly closing process for both Barberton plants, ensuring journal entries are prepared and approved accurately and closing is done timely (5PM on 1 st workday).
- Develop an annual operating plan for the control of operations. Such a plan provides profit planning, productions forecasts, expense budgets, accounts payable, cost standards and saving opportunities, inventory control and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to deliver the plan.
- Prepare a monthly forecast for both Barberton plants with collaboration from other functional areas such as production, supply chain, HR, maintenance. Present the forecast to Regional & Segment management teams with relevant variance analyses and risk/opportunities.
- Compare actual performance with operating plan and monthly forecast. Provide necessary reports and interpret the results of operations to all levels of Plant & Segment Management.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to deliver targets set forth by Management such as labor efficiency, scrap & indirect spend.
- Be a key stakeholder in productivity improvement initiatives to drive & validate improvements in cost per output
- Validate proposed capital projects for appropriate spend and savings targets. For approved projects, evaluate savings on an ongoing basis versus targets.
- Assure protection of fixed assets & inventory through internal controls & auditing.
- Comply with all facets of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act as coordinated by Howmet Corporate.
- Implement and maintain internal controls as directed by Howmet Corporate including interpretating and administering corporate policies.
- Assist Marketing & Cleveland Finance in establishing and maintaining product pricing policies with regards to Barberton outside source functions.
- Support quality certification programs and "cost-of-quality" reporting.
- Oversee all purchasing functions emphasizing cost control, inventory minimization, vendor/supplier stocking and consignment activities.
- Provide other company units with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- CPA/CMA certification
- Master's Degree (MBA)
