Customer Service Field Professional - Military Veterans

The Customer Service Field Professional has shared responsibility with the National Account Director for the overall growth, customer satisfaction and management of a specific customer brand. Builds and develops relationships with colleagues at McLane, Assigned customer, suppliers, and within the vendor communities. You will play an essential role in assessing client needs (critical problem solving), identify and solve problems (conflict resolution) and the sharing of best practices (influencing). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
  • Manage administrative functions including.
    • Monthly reports.
    • Monthly billings.
  • Proactively address services issues and communicate with the Distribution Center and customer Operators to ensure service issues are resolved.
    • Collaborate with Customer Service Manager in each DC to identify, focus and monitor units receiving poor performance.
  • Facilitate communication, training, implementation and monitoring of initiatives.
  • Work Internally & Externally to facilitate New Unit Openings in appropriate Distribution Centers.
  • Oversee Contingency Programs.
    • Work with Procurement team and Distribution Centers to confirm inventory plan.
    • Work with Contingency Distribution Centers for will calls and deliveries.
  • Work with a level of professionalism and confidentiality with the information you would see and hear in the office.
  • Model the McLane values and foster a supportive environment.
  • Personable with outstanding written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate and be a team player with an entrepreneurial personality and passion to grow the business.
  • Strong financial skills and business acumen.
  • Proven ability to work across various business functions and operate effectively within a team.
  • Monitor communications between Distribution Centers and Customer to confirm resolutions.
  • Delivery frequency validation twice yearly for all Distribution Centers.
  • Run ad hoc reports at customers' request.
  • Resolve issues in a timely manner and follow-up with customers.
  • Field visits may require overnight travel.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A teammate in this position must:
  • Have bachelor's degree (preferred) in business or related area.
  • Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Be able to prioritize.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule.
  • Working experience with customer interaction.
  • 80% Regional Travel within the Southeast US.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • The work conditions are primarily in a retail setting of a customer store, vehicle, and occasionally an office environment and Distribution Center.
  • Local travel is required, with some regional travel throughout the Southeast US.
  • Overnight travel varies by market area.
  • Must be 18 years old or older with a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Must be able to successfully pass an employment verification, drug screen, and criminal background check.
