General Statement of Duties: The Department of Social Work at Westfield State University is seeking applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors to begin September 2025. Westfield State University's Social Work Programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The MSW Program provides a clinically focused social work education using a hybrid model for the in-person option. Courses are offered two nights per week, with 2/3 of content delivered online and 1/3 delivered face-to-face. Specializations are offered in Children, Youth and Family, Health Social Work, Substance Use and Addictions, and Latinx Community Health with courses offered in Spanish. Since Fall 2022, The MSW Program has offered a fully online degree option. In this model, classes are held synchronously on Zoom two nights per week and asynchronous work during the rest of the week. The BSW Program provides generalist social work education using a hybrid model. With 2/3 of content delivered online and 1/3 delivered face-to-face, all practice courses are 100% face-to-face. Professors hired by Westfield State University are expected to teach across the BSW and MSW programs. Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: Master of Social Work from an accredited institution Minimum of two years post-masters direct practice experience PhD in Social Work from an accredited institution Candidates who are ABD will be considered Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with the ability to teach in Spanish Ability to teach Social Work Research Methods Practice experience in child welfare Practice experience with child, youth, and family Additional Information: Salary: Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies.
