Key Responsibilities:
Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design, installation, and integration of Main Power Substations (MPS), including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and control systems.
- Ensure seamless connection and interoperability with traction power, auxiliary power, and other critical metro systems.
System Analysis:
- Perform system studies, including short circuit analysis, load flow studies, and protection coordination to optimize power distribution and reliability.
Integration and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the MPS integrates effectively with signaling, SCADA, and telecommunications systems.
- Support the coordination of civil and electrical works for seamless substation installation and operation.
Testing and Commissioning:
- Oversee the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning of MPS equipment.
- Validate performance against project requirements and safety standards to ensure operational readiness.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure designs and installations comply with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and meet local regulatory requirements.
- Work with safety and cybersecurity teams to ensure MPS systems are robust and secure.
Upgrades and Optimization:
- Assess existing power systems and recommend upgrades to support increased capacity, improved efficiency, and enhanced reliability.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Process Improvement:
- Recommend process enhancements to improve delivery timelines and overall system performance.
