Post-Doctoral Associate - Military Veterans

About the position:
Professor Raphael Stern is seeking a post-doctoral associate who will take the lead on a variety of research projects and tasks in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering. This person will interact with, lead, and assist graduate and undergraduate students in the research group, and participate in grant application writing.
90% Research
- Conduct research related to specific externally funded projects, including collecting and analyzing data, troubleshooting challenges, and assisting graduate and undergraduate students on the project, as needed.
- Individually and collaboratively write reports for sponsors and papers to submit to refereed journals.
10% Lab Citizen
- Attend lab meetings with the entire research group and one-on-one meetings with Professors Stern and Khani, as required.
- Attend relevant lectures and training sessions.
- Maintain the highest safety standards that adhere to University policy.
- Assist other lab/community members, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong modeling and analytical skills in transportation engineering
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably Python and Matlab
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality publications
- A desire to help lead an integrative and motivated group of young scientists
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
