Job Title: Learning & Development Learning Experience Designer II
Location: Los Angeles, CA
About the role:
Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, will be responsible for designing and developing engaging learning experiences that enhance the skills, knowledge, and behavior of employees across the organization. This role will play a critical part in driving digital initiatives, fostering collaboration, and managing learning projects to support our business objectives.
By leveraging the most updated technology and innovative digital learning strategies, we aim to deliver impactful learning experiences that empower our employees to excel in their roles and drive success in our organization's mission to promote plant culture including Safety Culture, Quality Culture, and Guiding Principles, including decision-making based on Patient, Trust, Reputation, and Business.

Digital Learning Initiatives:
Harness the latest advancements in learning technology to create innovative and immersive digital learning experiences that engage and inspire learners.
Leverage virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and simulation-based learning to provide realistic and interactive training simulations for employees in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Explore the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to personalize learning content and adaptive learning paths based on individual learner preferences, competencies, and performance data.
Implement microlearning modules to deliver on-demand, bite-sized learning content that is accessible anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
Integrate gamification elements, such as badges, leaderboards, and rewards, to enhance learner motivation, engagement, and retention.
Collaborate with internal IT teams to evaluate and select emerging digital learning platforms and tools that align with our organizational needs and learning objectives.
Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in digital learning design, user experience (UX) design, and human-computer interaction (HCI) to continuously innovate and enhance our digital learning offerings.
Conduct usability testing and user feedback sessions to gather insights and iterate on the design of digital learning interfaces and interactions to optimize user engagement and learning outcomes.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as FDA guidelines for pharmaceutical training, data privacy regulations, and accessibility standards, in the development and deployment of digital learning solutions.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Regularly collaborate with both Global and local learning partners to share best practices and implement strategic company learning initiatives.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with business goals and priorities.
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing by facilitating workshops, communities of practice, and cross-functional learning opportunities.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to gather learning requirements and develop targeted learning solutions.
Project Management:
Manage end-to-end learning projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality learning solutions.
Coordinate with internal and external resources, such as vendors and consultants, to support the development and implementation of learning initiatives.
Track project progress, monitor milestones, and mitigate risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
Needs Analysis and Evaluation:
Conduct needs assessments and performance analyses to identify learning gaps and determine the most effective learning interventions.
Develop evaluation strategies and metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of learning experiences and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and digital learning, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Digital technical acuity with software (Articulate, Adobe Creative Cloud, CenarioVR, Training Arcade, Learning Platforms (edcast) and hardware (cameras, VR headsets).
Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS).
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning theories, and instructional design best practices.
Experience with evaluation methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick, Action Mapping) and learning analytics is a plus.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and provide constructive feedback.
What you bring to Takeda:
Requires Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 2+ years of related experience.
Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
Facilitate shift delivery of training as needed (non-routine).
May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.
May work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
Support Learning & Development needs at the Van Nuys location as necessary.

67,900.00 - 106,700.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
