The Critical Operations, Readiness and Execution (CORE) Team provides Test Engineering expertise and support to the Transportation and Program groups across all of LM Space.

As a Systems Integration & Test Engineer, you will have direct involvement in the Planning, Preparation, Operational Execution, and Mission Closeout phases associated with the movement and handling of high-value, critical flight hardware assemblies/sub-assemblies. The day-to-day life of a CORE Team member can vary tremendously. One day you might be in the office, creating schedules and authoring Test Engineering procedures; the next you might be on a C5 military aircraft, escorting a satellite to its launch complex. It’s this task variety that offers a truly unique and exciting opportunity and encourages employees to showcase their versatility.

Whatever your immediate assignment may be, you’ll utilize your education, experience and team skills to take on a wide range of technical challenges.
During the operational execution phase of a mission, the CORE Team leads flight hardware transports in a hands-on capacity at a number of sites across the United States, and on occasion, internationally. Because of this, team members can reasonably expect to be on work travel for short durations (2-7 days), approximately 8-12 times/year.

This position involves little oversight, day-to-day. Applicants must be outgoing self-starters, willing to actively communicate and work with program employees on a regular basis. Your responsibilities within the CORE Team as a Systems Integration & Test Engineer are summarized below.

• Plan, implement, document, and maintain technical solutions for the integration and testing of components, sub-systems and systems
• Integrate customer requirements into system test solutions that account for technical, schedule and cost constraints
• Lead/Execute large-scale, multidisciplinary, critical operations involving the transportation and handling of flight hardware
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
• Must be a United States citizen with an active TS/SCI gov’t clearance or the ability to obtain
• Ability to travel occasionally to moderately
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with technical writing
Desired Skills:
• Master’s Degree
• Certified Test Conductor credentials
• Experience in Spacecraft Transportation events (Aircraft loading/offloading, transportation containers, over-the-road logistics)
• Experience in developing Functional Failure Modes & Analyses
• Knowledge/Experience with Automation Framework for procedural documentation
• Familiarity with vehicle-mounted HVAC and Environmental Control Systems
• Experience with clean-room operations
• LMSSC Crane Director, Aerial Lift (PALD) and walk behind tug and forklift certifications
• This is a customer-facing job; candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Work well in a small team
• Possess or have the ability to obtain a United States passport
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
