The Department of Oral Health Sciences in the School of Dentistry at the University of Washington (UW) seeks a full-time Assistant Professor tenure-track with a focus on oral hea l th inequities research , with an anticipated start date of Fall 2025 . The UW School of Dentistry is on a 12-month service. Favorable factors for consideration for this position include, but are not limited to: Demonstrated experience in research, teaching, and mentorship A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Evidence of interdisciplinary oral health research interests in health inequities research including Social and Behavioral Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Implementation Science, Population Health, and/or Health Policy research. Track record with grant preparation and submission to federal and/or non-federal funding agencies. Experience with manuscript preparation, submission, and publication in reputable peer-reviewed journals in health equity or related fields. Evidence of clinical research interests and experience of clinician role in clinical research. Evidence of scholarship addressing diversity, health equity, and/or health disparities in dentistry. Demonstration of scientific leadership skills and potential. Evidence of collaborating on interdisciplinary research teams. Demonstration of effective teaching and mentoring skills. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program (e.g., K-level Career Development Award, R-level grant) . Faculty members in our department are expected to: (a) conduct an independent research program that complements Department, School, and University research initiatives and programs, (b) participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary clinical research programs as appropriate to their interests, (c) teach in the Department's educational programs, and (d) mentor predoctoral, Master , and doctoral students. In addition, the successful candidate would be expected to regularly participate in School and Departmental activities such as mentoring and providing career development for diverse professionals and students, leading seminars, guest speaking, orientation(s), program and department faculty meetings, white coat and graduation ceremonies, search committees, and relevant academic activities in the Department . The base salary range for this position will be $11,500?$12,500 per month ($138,000?$150,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include lump sum moving expenses/relocation incentive and startup funding. Hold a dental degree (DDS, DMD)or foreign equivalent Hold a doctoral degree(PhD, ScD, or equivalent)in public health or another relevant field with a focus onclinical research,epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, health systems, health services research, and/orpopulation health. Be clinically active and eligible for a faculty dental license from WA State.
