Akima Systems Engineering is looking for an Electrical Engineer to manage systems for the US Coast Guard's C5I Service Center.
Responsibilities
- Provides advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and training.
- Provides implementation advice on complex problems that require expert level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
- From a computer systems standpoint, participates as needed in all phases of software and hardware development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, training, and presentation phases.
- From a business process standpoint, provides technical advice, guidance and direction for the improvement, modification, and re-engineering of business processes, policies and procedures for any functional area under consideration or review.
- Applies principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise to specific programs.
- Directs the composition of or composes and finalizes documentation.
- Analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a military, governmental, or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making or resource allocation.
- Utilizes extremely complex modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines in determining solutions.
- Provides integral support in the requirements determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification and validation, documentation, and implementation of modeling and simulation-based decision support system applications.
- Recognized beyond the company as an authority in the subject matter and most often has published papers, patents, and disclosures.
- Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Qualifications
Four-year Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited University in the field of Business, Law, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering with ten (10) years of C4IT systems engineering experience, or master’s degree in science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics with eight (8) years of C4IT system engineering experience. A Secret clearance is required.
Pay Range
140-146K per year
