Responsibilities
As an Installer I - Staging Tech, you are responsible for reading and interpreting the proper installation specifications for various construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.
In addition, you will:
- Work with your hands, pre-assembling and testing Staging for Central Office installations
- Responsible for creating packing slips, and packaging all equipment to send to locations
- Connect wire and some provisioning as needed
- Update customer and MasTec systems accordingly, ensuring accuracy of information
- Learn how to identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding.
- Learn how to sew or stitch cabling.
- Learn how to read floor plan drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) because of installation or engineering activities
- Learn how to read and interpret installation specifications
About You:
- Safety is a part of your day to day
- Must be trainable and coachable
- You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
- You have entry-level or 1 year of technical experience.
- You have a High School diploma or equivalent GED.
- You have solid customer service skills
- You are computer literate and enjoy learning about new software
- You have excellent communication skills; speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; demonstrate group presentation skills
- You possess dependability - Follow instructions, respond to management direction; keep commitments
- Experience in handling power tools
- You are flexible, able to learn new processes and equipment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. consistently on your own
- Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
