Cloud Engineer - Military Veterans

Systems Intelligence is excited to provide IT services to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in support of Cloud programs. We are in search of an experienced Cloud Engineer to support this exciting program/customer.
Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining server, network, and software configurations to support cloud infrastructure and applications, leveraging DevOps principles for efficient deployment and automation.
- Developing and deploying cloud-based solutions to meet organizational needs, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Monitoring the performance of cloud systems and applications, diagnosing issues, and implementing timely resolutions to ensure optimal performance.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for cloud environments, processes, and best practices to ensure operational consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Assisting with the integration of cloud systems with existing IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across hybrid environments.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and emerging cloud technologies to recommend enhancements and improvements.
- Collaborating with software developers, system administrators, and IT teams to streamline workflows and implement CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, system administration, or DevOps.
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Google Cloud Platform) and their associated services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
- Basic knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Understanding of cloud security practices, including data protection and identity management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot cloud system issues effectively.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools like Python, Bash, or PowerShell is a plus.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals) are preferred but not required.
