Senior Project Manager & Lead Analyst - Military Veterans

Pay Range: $111,500 - $146,400

Schedule: Office- On Site

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Manager & Lead Analyst is responsible for managing the overall implementation of IT Applications projects. The role manages various large-scale programs and projects and provides relationship management on behalf of the AVANGRID IT group with objectives of providing an IT technical solution to meet the company's requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. Projects can be funded by both the business and IT. Project manager will be responsible for budget management of $20-$30 million projects.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and aligns multiple projects within a program. Management includes development of scope, creation of project team, management of project team (Matrix style) across business and IT areas (Architecture, Infrastructure, Governance, Security, Networking), Solution design creation, Solution Sign off, project design execution, Operational handover and close out.

Assist in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.

Interfaces with Global counterparts to review solution design and facilitate best practice process considerations in solution design.

Leads cross-functional project teams. Holds regular program/project status meetings.

Provides linkage to management for decision-making outside of day-to-day program/project team activities.

Manages Vendor relationships, system integrators, contractors, and contingent workers on a project-by-project basis. Project team size for any single project can vary between 30-100 resources.

Participates in preparation of plans and budgets for programs and projects. Manages progress against plans and take corrective action to offset variances. Reports to management on progress status.

Required to adapt to new styles based on Vendor where applicable, train/coach vendor on AVANGRID process or manage working in an AGILE way where applicable, using the methodology artifacts to conduct the project (vision canvas, roadmap, PBF, MVP, product backlog, user stories, sprint backlog, and product increment).

Execute the Scrum Master role when the Agile methodology is used in the project, being responsible for ensuring that the Scrum methodology is understood and used effectively. Leading the development team, removing any impediments to project progress, facilitating events, and coaching the team members. Assists the Product Owner with managing the backlog and communicating the project vision.

Responsible for meeting corporate objective for capital investment. Manages projects to approved scope, schedule, and budget. Budget owner for own project portfolio, required to deliver to target and report status to Management monthly.

Serve as a Project Manager on strategic, critical, high-risk, unique, or complex projects and RFPs to ensure to ensure our customer needs are met/exceeded and where applicable, efficiencies delivered. Responsible for communicating project/RFP status to key stakeholders including sponsors, business leaders, regulators, employees, and customers.

Direct and manage project/RFP development from beginning to end. Maintain project schedules and milestones. Maintain and provide accurate project documentation to auditing upon request.

Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.

Acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. Define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project.

Perform Lead role for IT in any Storm related activities, IT Event Coordinator. When activated this report directly to the Area Commander and provide co-ordination services across the entire IT organization. Attend all area command meetings and report IT status as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required in IT, Business, or a related Field.
  • 10 years or more of related field or IT equivalent work experience is required.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Strong understanding of different software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Program/Project Management experience.
  • Certification for Project/Program management (preferred).
  • AGILE methodology experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of IT design and architecture.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, challenging and rigid deadlines and technologies.
  • Able to work with management team counterparts to meet priorities and resolve issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels, including the executive level.

Experience/Training:
  • Over 10 years Project Management experience.
  • 7 years of IT work in AGILE project management experience.
  • Strong service delivery experience, preferably within IT.
  • Experience in leading projects and / or teams
  • Experience managing projects with GIS integrations to Enterprise Systems
  • Prior management supervisory, experience.
  • Knowledge of IT business and financial aspects.
