Job Description:
Are you ready to take on a career-defining challenge in metro system infrastructure? Parsons is seeking an experienced Senior Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Engineer to lead and manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced AFC systems for metro networks. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in the development and deployment of state-of-the-art AFC technologies, including Account-Based Ticketing (ABT), QR codes, NFC, and contactless payment solutions, ensuring seamless integration with other metro operations systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership and Oversight:
- Lead the design, engineering, and integration of PSD systems, ensuring alignment with project-specific requirements and international standards.
- Oversee th
System Design and Implementation:
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of AFC systems, from requirements gathering and design to implementation and commissioning.
- Ensure integration of ABT, contactless, and mobile payment technologies into the AFC infrastructure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align AFC solutions with the latest technological advancements and passenger needs.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide expert guidance on AFC system architecture, hardware, and software components.
- Evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and industry best practices to enhance system efficiency and scalability.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex technical issues and implement long-term solutions.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Coordinate with technology vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Review and approve technical documentation, design submissions, and change requests.
- Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Integration and Interoperability:
- Ensure smooth interoperability of AFC systems with metro operations, including signaling (e.g., CBTC), telecommunications, and power systems.
- Oversee integration of AFC systems with passenger service platforms and real-time data exchange systems.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all AFC systems meet relevant safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain compliance with international standards such as ISO, PCI DSS, and EMV.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Develop training programs to support the operational teams in managing AFC technologies effectively.
