Technologist III - MSK Nassau

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technologist III to join MSK Nassau Clinical Laboratories.

Role Overview:

  • Prepare and analyze samples according to written standard protocols; Assist with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Operate equipment carefully and according to procedures; Help maintain commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems.
  • Assure equipment and instruments meet performance standards.
  • Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work of the laboratory.
  • Functions as supervisor in supervisor's absence.
  • Reviews workload and workflow and makes recommendations on procedures to improve efficiency and to respond to changes.
  • Monitors staff activities to assure accurate, thorough completion of work; Notify supervisor of discrepancies and record corrective action taken.
  • Updates procedures when appropriate and assists in writing new technical procedures. Makes recommendations for updating procedure manuals.
  • Assists supervisor to develop, evaluate, modify, and implement new procedures and new products.
  • Learns new instrumentation, reviews preliminary work, and reads relevant literature prior to developing procedures.
  • Compiles data and writes validation, as required.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required
  • 6+ years of experience required.
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License Required
    • ASCP preferred

Additional Information:
  • Monday-Friday, 12pm to 8pm.
  • Location: MSK Nassau, 1101 Hempstead Turnpike Uniondale NY
  • Reports into: Manager, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

Pay Range: $50.11-$78.21
