  • Fuel Distribution: Largest independent fuel distributor in the U.S., distributing over 8 billion gallons of fuel a year across more than 33 states, including Hawaii. We distribute fuel to more than 7,300 retail locations and over 2,500 commercial customers
  • Pipelines Systems: Network of over 14,000 miles of pipelines spanning 16 states, distributing crude oil, refined products, renewable fuels, ammonia, and specialty liquids
  • Terminals: 113 fuel terminals in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico
Summary

Sunoco LP is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Retail Operational Accounting team in Dallas, TX. We perform end-to-end accounting and analysis for all service areas for gas, food and auto services along New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform daily review of store activity. Work with store managers to address inventory, credit card, fuel sales and merchandise sales issues.
  • Record daily and monthly journal entries to ensure accuracy of financial information.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and explain reconciling items.
  • Perform trend analysis on various P&L and balance sheet accounts.
  • Proactively identify improvements in areas like tasks completion and availability.
  • Creatively use Excel techniques to develop working templates for process enhancements.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (degree in accounting preferred)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Excel required
    • Sound understanding of accounting practices and principles
    • General Ledger experience including manual journal entries ,and problem solving using t-accounts, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience with SAP, Power BI, Alteryx, or Robotic Process Automation tools is a plus
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

o The Associate Accountant/Analyst level requires a bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of relevant job-related experience

o The Accountant/Analyst level requires a bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant job-related experience

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
