Human Resources Generalist - Military Veterans

Our client is looking to hire a Human Resources (HR) to support the day-to-day HR functions, ensuring the company complies with labor laws, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Staffing:
o Manage the full recruitment cycle, including creating job descriptions, posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and hiring new employees.
o Work closely with department managers to understand staffing needs and ensure proper workforce planning for production schedules.
o Coordinate new employee onboarding, including orientations, training, and introductions to company policies and procedures.
2. Employee Relations:
o Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing employee concerns, grievances, and workplace conflicts.
o Promote a positive work culture by supporting communication between leadership and employees, fostering employee engagement and morale.
o Handle investigations related to employee complaints or disciplinary actions and work with management to resolve issues.
3. Performance Management:
o Assist with the implementation and management of performance review systems, setting up performance goals and tracking employee progress.
o Work with managers to identify training needs, offer feedback to improve employee performance, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
o Support the development and tracking of employee development plans to align with organizational goals.
4. Compensation and Benefits Administration:
o Administer compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, health benefits, retirement plans, and employee wellness programs.
o Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to benefits and assist employees in understanding their benefits options.
o Conduct market analysis to help maintain competitive pay structures within the manufacturing industry.
5. Training and Development:
o Identify training needs for employees, particularly those related to skills development, safety, and compliance within the manufacturing environment.
o Coordinate and facilitate training programs, including safety training, technical skills training, and leadership development.
o Maintain records of training certifications and ensure employees meet required certifications or licenses for their roles.
6. Compliance and Legal Issues:
o Ensure company compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA regulations, labor rights, wage and hour laws).
o Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements and company policy.
o Prepare and maintain reports related to labor laws, safety regulations, equal employment opportunity (EEO), and affirmative action.
7. Health and Safety:
o Collaborate with the safety team to ensure a safe working environment, particularly related to OSHA regulations and manufacturing-specific hazards.
o Promote and enforce safety protocols, conduct safety audits, and investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
o Support health and wellness programs to reduce workplace injuries and promote employee well-being.

Education and Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
HR Certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are beneficial
A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in HR, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
