Construction Technology Advisor - Military Veterans

Summary of Primary Functions
Dobbs Equipment is looking for a Technology Support Advisor. This position drives our technology and machine business at the local branch level by partnering with the sales teams and being a visible, active, and recognized construction technology leader throughout your area of responsibility (AOR). It requires an aggressive pursuit of growing our technology business through the sale, rental, leasing, and support of John Deere Precision Construction products (SmartGrade), Topcon Positioning products, and Teleo Remote and Autonomy products.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities : May include some or all the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Partner with local sales teams to identify technology opportunities with existing customers using our entire technology portfolio.
- Prospect and cold call on new customers using our technology portfolio to increase our customer base and grow Deere machine opportunities using customer meetings and technology demo opportunities.
- Participate in all branch and regional sales and training meetings.
- Attending all required training classes from our manufacturer partners.
- Quote and negotiate prices, credit terms, prepare contracts and record and close orders.
- Provide on-site expertise for demonstrations, deliveries, and technical support.
- Record daily activity in CRM database and call log.
- Report market awareness and at-risk customers to sales leadership
- Provide lost sales reports and technology competitive pricing to Director of DPS
- Meet or exceed company targets for units, dollars, and gross profit.
- Manage and control sales-related expenses.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Knowledge of GPS equipment
- Individual must be proficient in Driving Sustainable Results, Focusing on Customers, Making Sound Decisions, Influencing Effectively, and Building Relationships
- Valid Drivers License
Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements :
- 1+ Years of working knowledge of GPS equipment. Preferred.
- Familiarity with the construction industry or contractors or both.
- Valid Drivers License and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to self-manage/self-motivate.
- PC literate, proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Quick learner with the ability to think outside of the box.
- Extensive driving required; overnight travel required.
- Bilingual a plus.
