Job Summary
Responsible for supporting risk management activities at Medline including the execution of Medline's global insurance program and risk control initiatives. Work with key risk stakeholders to identify, measure, and manage insurable risks to achieve strategic objectives.
Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Medline's insurance and risk programs by working with third party service providers including brokers, insurers, consultants, and TPAs to ensure timelines are met. Globally, gather, analyze, review, and provide data for insurance renewal, including, applications, schedules, updating property values by location, presentations, issuing certificates of insurance, and processing insurance invoices. Provide recommendations for updates and alterations to the policies, renewal procedures, and process as necessary. Ensure receipt of all insurance policies and review policy wording to confirm accuracy. Work with accounting on allocation questions to ensure timely allocation of the insurance premiums.
- Continuously review, maintain, and enhance the company's risk management exposure information. Utilize Medline's Risk Management Information System for maintaining, tracking, reporting, and collecting required insurance information, including, property locations and values, autos, headcount and payroll, policy information, claims, NDA, etc. Validate and enhance existing data as new information is gathered. Create and validate reporting to support business and risk management needs. Seek out and implement improvements that enhance the use of the RMIS to maximize its benefit.
- Coordinates loss control programs between Medline and insurance carriers in support of risk improvement. Attend loss control surveys to communicate Medline's risk mitigation strategies. Ensure understanding of insurance company recommendations and to improve business practices. Evaluate all remediation options, considering the cost, alternatives, and impact to business operations. Work with location contacts to implement solutions and reduce Medline's risk. Take on more complex recommendations that impact operations, CapEx, or multiple locations. Assist in claims reviews with TPAs.
- Compile required information from various sources to submit insurance complex claims, including review of information for accuracy, reasonableness, and responsiveness to the adjuster's requests. Work closely with adjusters, forensic accountants, brokers, and business partners to ensure accurate and prompt payment of complex claims.
- Mentor and train new analysts and rotational team members on Risk processes and goals. Support broader risk management services, such as risk consulting to business partners, contract reviews, vendor COI tracking, business continuity, M&A, and ad hoc requests
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in Finance, Risk Management, or related discipline .
- High school diploma and at least 7-10 years of experience in Finance, Risk Management, or related discipline.

- At least 3 years of Finance, Risk Management, or related discipline.
- Detail oriented with a strong sense of follow-up and completion.
- Ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders and provide excellent customer service.
- Willing to travel up to 15% of the time for business purposes (within state, out of state, and international).
- Understanding of insurance process. Ability to comprehend and navigate policy wording.
- Advanced knowledge of: Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Word applications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must have strong customer relationship skills.
- Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Certification / Licensure
- ARM
- Intermediate skill level in SAP
- Risk Management experience in a corporate environment or experience working with insurance brokers.
- Experience with Origami Risk.
- Prior experience in the healthcare or life sciences industries.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$85,280.00 - $123,760.00 Annual
The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
