The IT Communications Specialist will support the development and execution of internal communications strategies to promote the IT organization’s brand, drive engagement, and ensure effective messaging. The role involves creating, editing and managing content across the various channels including email communications, newsletter, IT intranet site as well as working closely with cross-functional teams to support organizational change management efforts.
Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Communications Strategy
Maintain and refresh the IT Communications Plan to keep it modern and current.
Serve as trusted advisor to IT leads providing guidance on strategy, execution, and writing to support ongoing communication needs.
Collaborate with marketing and branding team to ensure cohesive visual representation of standards across all platforms.
Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into innovative logo designs.
Be proactive in ideating to bringing new creative internal communications ideas and initiatives forward to enhance teammate communications.
Deliver consistent company-wide IT related messaging and talking points to drive message consistency across the IT organization.
Gauge employee readiness for integration changes.
Ongoing execution of communications and change management interventions in support of integration goals and overall cultural alignment.
IT Communications Execution
Take the lead on implementing the IT Communications Plan; leverage both a push and pull communications strategy.
Support a myriad of teammate focused content development initiatives to include writing, editing, proof reading, and producing of internal communications to be used across channels such as emails, IT intranet site, talking points, PowerPoint presentations, training materials, brochures, and other teammate focused communications.
Build and maintain templates within the Company’s email management and send communications to target internal audiences based on Internal Communications’ timeline.
Develop IT Communication’s blog as a new channel of communication.
Build out and keep current the IT intranet site for easy access of pertinent information.
Support employee IT training, as required.
IT Communications Reporting and Analytics
Track and report on key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide actionable insights.
Design employee experience dashboards pulling together key metrics and developing visual ways to represent the data.
Communicate open/read/click rates with appropriate internal stakeholders as needed and support online reporting needs.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Communications or related field.
Minimum experience required: 3+ Years in communications with 1+ years working with social media and technical content.
Job Competencies:
Must be a creative writer and passionate storyteller.
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
Familiarity with communication platforms and content management systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and Contact Monkey (or similar tool).
Basic graphic design skills are a plus.
Proficiency in analytical tools.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Must have active listening skills and a keen eye for detail.
Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
