Admissions Recruiter - ( 240001PC ) University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) School of Pharmacy (SOP) is currently seeking an Admissions Recruiter (Admissions Counselor) in the Deans Administration, Office of Recruitment, Admissions, and Integration. Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and the Associate Dean of Recruitment, Admissions, and Integration, the Admissions Recruiter is responsible for achieving established academic program enrollment goals through established and data-driven recruitment practices. The Admissions Recruiter, in collaboration with Program Leadership, is a representative of the university, serving as the point person for the recruitment of students and the management of communications with external stakeholders. The Admissions Recruiter is expected to work with diverse groups of individuals within the university to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication plan, with a primary focus on recruitment. The Admissions Recruiter, in collaboration with the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, will implement a comprehensive recruitment and admissions plan that includes targeted advertising, travel, campus visits, and triaging admissions queries for the Doctor of Pharmacy and Graduate degree program(s) including prospective, in-progress applicants and, when assigned, accepted students. The Admissions Recruiter should have a demonstrated record of success in admissions/enrollment, preferably in higher education, and preferably will have experience with generating and delivering a marketing and recruitment plan. The work requires flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and attention to detail. The Admissions Recruiter must support the mission of the university and be motivated to promote the growth and development of its programs. The Admissions Recruiter must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position requires an ability to travel 50% or more of the time, and requires the incumbent to be able to regularly lift 25 lbs. This position requires an incumbent to travel 50% of time or more. Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends and travel for recruitment and professional development. Lifting and carrying materials up to 25 lbs. as required. PRIMARY DUTIES Recruit students to attend the University by creating awareness about the University, its programs, and scholarship opportunities among students, counselors, and alumni. Recommend improvements to engagement/recruitment strategies and changes to policies and procedures that include considerations for prospective students who are completing pre-pharmacy coursework. Coordinate activities for prospective students, including summer internships and summer camps. Represent the University and School of Pharmacy at national, regional, and local recruiting events and conducts presentations to a wide variety of internal and external constituents. Guide prospective students through recruitment and pre-admissions advertisements by instructing them in the application process and informing them of deadlines. Maintain communication with prospective applicants to encourage and support completion of the application process. Ensure the implementation of programs and processes targeting the recruitment and retention of prospective students. Generate recruitment materials based on programmatic information. Coordinate the dissemination of information to prospective students and other stakeholders using multiple communication platforms. Maintain daily tracking of prospective students and applicants. In collaboration with the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and Associate Dean of Recruitment, Admissions, and Integration, assess recruitment activities and documentation of their outcomes. Provide recommendations for planning and strategizing recruitment travel. Assist in review and analysis of reports for trends and target improvements. Provide administrative support to program leadership in implementing and fostering existing partnerships within healthcare systems, businesses, and educational entities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience in admissions, student enrollment, or a related field. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience generating and delivering a marketing and recruitment plan and working in a higher education environment preferred. Recruitment, enrollment, or student services experience is preferred. OTHER: Related experience may be substituted for education. Clery Act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of position requirements. Thorough knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Knowledge of marketing and recruitment techniques. Knowledge of admissions requirements, curriculum, and programs. Knowledge of assigned program(s) profession and training programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and database management. Social media skills preferred. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to the growth and development of assigned University programs. Ability to learn new technologies, apply self-motivation skills, and ability to prioritize workload. Ability to work as part of a team, with the University and other stakeholders, and independently. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to implement best practices, exercise sound judgment, and work with diverse populations. Strong collaboration skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to collect and analyze data using the results to implement future programs, plans, and strategies. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts.
