Internal Job Number: P05062CT Description: This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Analyst Programmer, competency level 3, position for UIT - TSA : Administrative Technologies at Oregon State University ( OSU ). University Information & Technology ( UIT ) is a mission-driven, dynamic IT organization leading digital transformation at Oregon State University ( OSU ) to achieve the university's ambitious goals of educating more students, making breakthrough discoveries in research, and expanding the university's outreach and service to Oregon and the world. UIT sets IT strategies for all OSU organizations and encompasses the central organization that manages IT operations for the university, including its three campuses and services that reach students worldwide. This position is in the Administrative Technologies unit which is part of the Technical and Solutions Architecture ( TSA ) department within Oregon State University's University Information & ( UIT ) division, this position shares and supports the University's mission by assisting the University to extend all programs, teachings, research and communication throughout the world. The services provided by UIT - TSA units, including Academic Technologies, Administrative Technologies, Infrastructure, and Network & Telecom Services, assist the University community by facilitating transmission of knowledge and expertise to its members, thereby enhancing their ability to be productive, valued, and esteemed members of the University community, serving the State of Oregon. Services are provided to students, faculty, and staff for curricular, research, intellectual, and administrative activities and needs, as well as to the wider Oregon higher education and government community. There are approximately 175 faculty and classified employees in UIT , as well as 150 FTE student positions. UIT administers a total budget of $35+ million. Reporting to the Director of Administrative Technologies, the Workday Tenant and Oracle Database Administrator (WT- DBA ) is responsible for ensuring the effective administration of all OSU Workday Tenants (production and non-production), as well as the Oracle databases and applications used to support key administrative functions such as enrollment, registration, grading, employment, user authentication, financial, grants and payroll processes operate smoothly, securely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is an organized and procedural individual with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability and the ability to dig deeply into technical puzzles and challenges. The WT- DBA will actively evaluate and support new technologies and participate in technical planning and deployment of Workday and Oracle database solutions. This includes administrative applications such as Workday, Banner, OSU's Data Platform, and Transactional Integration Platforms which use support these Workday Tenants and Oracle databases. Other related responsibilities include providing support for code management, job scheduling support, and Disaster Recovery planning and testing. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in systems analysis and related programming support functions generally obtained by a bachelor's degree in computer science, or an equivalent amount of training and applied experience. Requirements : Solid fundamental knowledge of database design and computer operating systems, including system components and resource utilization. A minimum of three years experience with Workday Tenant Management, Oracle database management ( DBA ), or equivalent database management experience supporting complex ERP level databases. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to write stored procedures, and demonstrated competency with coding, testing, debugging, and documenting. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. Type: The incumbent in this position must occasionally work mornings, nights, weekends, and possibly even holidays to perform maintenance and corrective actions at times when the computer systems are not otherwise busy
