Position Summary Clinical faculty position as OBGYN Hospitalist for services at NYP-Westchester Hospital General Ob/Gyn division is an essential, patient facing role. Qualified applicant will provide inpatient OBGYN care for patients from local community based OBGYN practices including NYPMG Westchester. Clinical scope includes but is not limited to triage evaluation of the obstetric patient, Labor & Delivery patient management, obstetrical procedures, postpartum care, in-patient GYN consultations, emergency room consultations, and emergency GYN procedures. This position reports to the Chief of Obstetrics at NYP Westchester and the academic title will be determined by the candidate?s qualifications. Job Responsibilities The OBGYN-Hospitalist: Is responsible for providing the highest level of patient care to patients in the Labor and Delivery service at NYPW Hospital Facilitates coordination of care among the multidisciplinary team to assure optimal patient care. Works in conjunction with NYPW Hospital administrative and clinical staff to optimize teamwork and collaboration Works with OBGYN physicians and advanced practice provider teams to adopt quality initiatives, evidence-based best practices, and clinical guidelines for standardization of practice. Promotes patient safety and maximizes efficiency of Labor and Delivery services. Provides effective and responsive leadership for Labor & Delivery service coordination, including clinical decision support for obstetric emergencies throughout the hospital. Collaborate with Senior Leadership to implement best practice and strategic initiatives. Participates in multidisciplinary simulation training sessions. Ensures that the evidenced-based standards of emergency room triage and surgical care are being met. Effectively collaborates with Maternal-Fetal-Medicine and Neonatology services for patients with high-risk conditions requiring care escalation. In your role at NYP-Westchester Hospital, it is expected that you will practice to the full scope of general obstetrics and gynecology inpatient care.
