Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs. Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters. Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing. May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding. May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Assistant Dean and Director to develop, implement, and evaluate a strategic plan for creating a welcoming and belonging environment in the residency program for the purposeful, data-driven recruitment in the UAB Heersink School of Medicine.
- Develop and implement program evaluation of the strategic plan for Graduate Medical Education, including collection, collation, and management of main match ERAS data; data analysis; creation of aggregate and program data reports; and creation of reports for Department Chairs.
- Implementation and evaluation of programming aligned with GME goals to enhance culture and a sense of belonging for all trainees (example: health inequities lecture series, social determinants of health lecture series).
- Collaborate with UME and Office of Access Engagement Medical Student Experience to develop and execute cross-cutting programming and find opportunities for growth within and outside the UAB Heersink School of Medicine through mentorship and scholarship.
- Coordinate internal and external events to promote recruitment and retention of trainees with unique perspectives and lived experiences (SNMA, LMSA, and Howard Residency Fair, for example).
- Development and execution of internal and external contracts.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programming to support the retention of trainees whose lived experiences reflect the patient population we serve (example: GME MedPRIDE, URM Housestaff Council).
- Communicate, written and verbal, with internal and external constituencies.
- Interface with internal stakeholders such as UAB, UAB Heersink School of Medicine, Health System leadership, and UAB faculty, staff, and trainees. Interface with external resources such as other organizations and vendors for events and related services. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with colleagues.
- Responsible for creating and adhering to the program budget, including maintaining accurate expense records and other fiscal duties.
- Responsible for contract submission, processing, reimbursements, payments, and purchase order development and submission.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts in the creation and execution of professional development presentations.
- Dissemination of GME initiatives, programming, and recommendations to support program coordinators' holistic recruitment goals.
- Provide administrative and operational support for Office of Access Engagement Resident and Fellow Experience.
Salary Range: $51,270 - $83,300
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
