Global Campus - Contract Management Instructor (Pool) Req No: 2024-18241 Category: Education/Training Type: Part-Time Contract Salary: $100.00 Close Date: Overview This position is budgeted for $100.00 per hour and is non-negotiable. SDSU Global Campus offers online degree completion programs, certifications, and career training programs for learners in San Diego and across the world. San Diego State University Global Campus is accepting applications for its pool of instructors to teach one or more courses in the Professional Certificate in Contract Management program. Reporting to the Director of Professional Programs, the Part-time Instructor is responsible for delivering online instruction in the field of contract management to students seeking to develop expertise in the field. The instructor must be able to utilize their experience in commercial and/or government contracting to provide practical insights and real-world scenarios, requiring strong teaching skills, subject matter expertise in contracts and industry best practices, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles. Courses are taught online on a weekly basis between 6:00-9:00pm PST. Hiring departments utilize the adjunct pool when there is a need and will contact you directly should you possess the qualifications they are seeking. The Contract Management Instructor is responsible for but not limited to: Classroom and Instruction Related 90% Regularly update course content to stay aligned with advancements in contract management. Design, organize, and deliver lessons that maximize student learning, integrating core competencies and effective teaching strategies. Create and select instructional materials that align with course objectives and program goals. Prepare and distribute course syllabi and outlines, ensuring compliance with program policies. Tailor teaching methods to address the diverse needs of students, promoting an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Evaluate student progress through fair and consistent methods, keeping accurate records and submitting grades on time. Integrate technology and learning platforms (e.g., Canvas) to enrich the educational experience. Contribute to the creation and selection of instructional materials that align with course objectives. Incorporate key competencies into the curriculum. Develop, update, and distribute course syllabi promptly. Use the Canvas platform for posting course readings, grades, assignments, etc. Establish clear and meaningful learning outcomes for courses and programs. Design and communicate assessment methods that fairly measure student progress toward learning outcomes. Assess student performance consistently and return work promptly to support optimal learning. Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure timely submission of final grades. Ensure that syllabi and approved course outlines for all assigned sections are prepared and distributed in line with program and divisional policies. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Non Instruction Related Support 5% Participate in and contribute to the scheduling of classes. Contribute to efforts in recruiting and promoting student enrollment in the program. Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned 5% Qualifications Knowledge & Abilities Exhibit a deep and accurate understanding of the Contract Management field. Continuously update knowledge through professional development, active participation in industry organizations, and attending relevant meetings, conferences, or workshops. Leverage technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience when suitable. Design and structure lessons to maximize student learning and achievement. Apply effective teaching methods and strategies to clearly communicate subject matter to students. Adapt instructional approaches as needed to accommodate the diverse needs of students. Education & Experience Must be a subject matter expert in designated focus of deliverables as defined by either a degree, certificate, and/or equivalent progressively professional experience that can be exchanged on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications & Special Skills Experience with online teaching. Demonstrates competencies teaching in an online environment. Past working experience teaching adult learners.
