Responsibilities
About the role
The Treasury Operations Suspense and Research Specialist processes payments and refunds for consumer loans, lease and commercial lending. Specialists researches all customer complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve request. Request types and postings include but not limited to misapplied and/or missing payment request, reconciling debits and credits, customer refunds, suspense rejects, auction postings, payoffs and total loss. This team member has contact with internal and external business partners including financial institutions, attorneys, company alliances, customers and automobile dealerships.
In this role you will:
- Process all manual and electronic payments that rejects into suspense daily in an accurate manner
- Process AutoSuite GTA requests received from Collections, Customer Service and Remarketing etc, with accuracy and efficiency
- Research and resolve accounts according to payment disputes in relation to missing payments, misapplied payment, unauthorized payments and overpayments
- Research and process charge backs, returns, and nsf and Unidentified Payments in a timely manner
- Ability to reapply payments and account adjustments following departmental guidelines as needed while executing this process flawlessly
- Adapt to change in workflows, be available to switch processes as needed by adapting to change
- Process and monitor all refunds and/or voids related to customers, dealers and third-party payers in a timely manner by coordinating with Corporate GL as needed
- Assist all internal and external customers by providing accurate, courteous responses to payments and account inquiries
- Process Auction Payments, Auction Invoices and ARBS in a timely manner by coordinating with Remarketing
- Maintain suspense file in accordance with policy
- Ensure all reconciling items or out-of-balance items are resolved in an accurate and timely manner
Qualifications
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Basic knowledge of the accounts receivable process
- Suspense and research knowledge related to payments and refunds
- Knowledge of credit and debit processing in auto finance and/or banking
- Basic knowledge of auto industry inclusive of consumer and commercial installment contracts
- Mathematical ability to calculate payments and reconcile payment postings
- Ability to problem solve while complying of all policies and procedures
- Proficient in the use of basic computer functions and Microsoft applications
- Ability to multitask on several functions as it relates to suspense and research not to include or limited to posting and research
Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- 1-2 years experience in customer service and in performing general office duties in auto finance or banking related environment preferred
