Responsibilities

About the role

The Travel Security and Safety Analyst is responsible for assisting the Travel Security and Safety Supervisor with the Global Travel Security and Safety program. The Analyst will monitor and promote the GM Financial SecureTravel Program for all team members throughout the organization. This role collaborates frequently with business partners, contracted security service providers, travel risk management companies and governmental authorities to protect and safeguard GMF team members and assets during periods of company travel.

In this role you will:

  • Analyze and monitor intelligence from external information sources (OSAC, Departments of State, GM Regional Security, etc) to provide travelers with relevant safety and security information regarding their intended travel destination
  • Continuously monitor global events, indicators and alert systems in real-time to evaluate and disseminate information on any threats to travelers
  • Recommend special security considerations to Global Security management to address unique security or travel circumstances
  • Interface with GM Regional Security to align security measures and ensure appropriate levels of security support for travelers
  • Develop and/or update travel security guidance, situational reports and other intelligence products
  • Compose, present and document security briefings / debriefings for travel to / from high risk destinations
  • Collaborate with Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) personnel to provide guidance on best practices and ensure resources are available to appropriately support a request for travel assistance
  • Review and investigate travel and workplace safety incidents
  • Assist with composing policies, educational materials and process guides based on best practices in travel security and workplace safety
  • Work closely with Global Security management to identify and address possible compliance issues
  • When necessary, arrange & coordinate third party vendor-provided travel security for team members traveling to elevated risk destinations; including obtaining competitive cost proposals and tracking costs for security and protection services
  • Confirm all pertinent information for travel to higher risk destinations
  • Undertake and lead Special Projects related to Travel Security and Intelligence as assigned

Qualifications

What makes you a dream candidate?
  • Knowledge of current travel requirements, regulations and Department of State travel advisories
  • Advanced knowledge of travel security and safety strategies
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint; including Pivot Tables and V-Look-ups
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage relationships with internal team members and external support agencies
  • Second Language skills in Spanish or Portuguese preferred

Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Security, Hospitality, Communications, Information Technology, Emergency Management or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience developing and implementing policies and procedures preferably in a corporate environment required

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY

GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada.  In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015.  In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.

 

GM Financial provides auto finance solutions to 14,000 dealers worldwide, with earning assets of $93 billion at September 30, 2018.
