Shift Electrician - Military Veterans

The role of the Electrician is to perform preventative and maintenance work orders, troubleshoot and repair various mill equipment, repair and modify electrical controls including electronic drive units, PLCs, and HMIs, provide electrical support to the mechanical and production teams, and assist with various projects.

Technically they need someone with an understanding of fundamental electrical theory (Ohms and Kirchhoff's Law) and practice, have experience troubleshooting 480V and 3 phase motors and controls (including 3-phase calculations), automation controls, and experience or the ability to learn to perform routine and corrective maintenance on:

- AC motors and drives, DC motors and drives

- Power distribution, VFDs, control systems and PLCs (will teach PLCs)

- Overhead cranes

- Strong troubleshooting skills, excellent computer skills

- Mechanical aptitude or any hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge is a bonus.

They will have an outlined training program in place, starting with a safety training program, as safety is something they take very seriously, most training will be OJ, but you must have electrical troubleshooting and repair experience. This is a new mill and they expect to be up and running and producing steel by the 2nd quarter of 2025. To start, you will be assisting with the installation and start-up of equipment and some construction in the mill, while training and getting up to speed on skill sets you are weaker with. These shifts usually run 4 days on 4 days off 4 nights on 4 nights off, 12-hour shifts, 7am ? 7pm and 7pm to 7am.

Base salary, $95K - $110K DOE, plus a guaranteed construction onus until plant is up and running; then a production bonus takes over. Also, they offer a great benefits package.
