SubLAN Network On-Site Representative (NOSR) - Military Veterans

Are you looking to continue providing IT support to the world's finest submarine fleet? If so, Amentum may have the full-time, immediate position you are looking for, as a Submarine Network On-Site Representative (NOSR) for submarines homeported in Norfolk, VA.
The NOSRs are designated as the TYCOM submarine network system experts embedded with the local ISIC or SUBREDRON as applicable and serve as the liaison between the ship's force and all other support agencies (DoD Inspection/Assessment Teams, RMCs, Program Offices, and IMFs) for shipboard network-based systems. The basic function of the NOSR is to assist the TYCOM in ensuring submarine networks are operated, administered, and maintained per established DoD, DoN, Fleet, and Force policies.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide for onboard and TYCOM administration support, guidance, system onboard training, and monitoring of Submarine Networks at the local ISIC/Submarine Squadrons
- Provide support for Submarine Networks including limited non-Submarine Networks client support and non-Submarine Networks laptops/workstations
- Mentor and provide instruction and training to fleet LAN administrators in Submarine Networks maintenance and administration procedures (system backups, switch configurations, software configurations, etc.)
- Conduct periodic assessments of submarine crew's LAN administration capabilities
- Establish and provide ongoing periodic training to submarine crews
Minimum Requirements:
- Three (3) years of full-time, hands-on experience in the installation, test, and/or maintenance of Submarine Local Area Networks (SUBLAN) Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) Host Based Security System (HBSS) Navy Information Application Product Suite (NIAPS) advanced information technology equipment and/or major network administration systems on board US Naval Submarines, or an equivalent civilian work experience outside of the military
- Seven (7) years of full-time experience in the operation and/or maintenance of various computer-controlled equipment used to perform tests, simulations, or real-time operations such as installed forward control systems onboard Naval ships/submarines
- Ability to obtain IAT III certification within 6 months, paid for and sponsored by Amentum [this position has been designated as a DoD Information Assurance (IA) workforce position in Information Assurance Technician Level III (IAT III) and as a condition of employment incumbents for this position are required to comply with the DoD IA workforce program requirements of DoD 8570.01M, which include; Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from eh DoD IA workforce Qualification Matrix (described in DoD 8570.01-M) associated with specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which assigned, and participate in a continuous learning program to maintain certification]
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance.
- SubLAN experience on various classes of submarines including Virginia class
- CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
