The Ames Laboratory is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate position within the Division of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE). Successful candidate will work with research groups to develop quantum materials/devices and advanced electron microscopy techniques. The incumbents duties includes: initiate, design, and perform chemical and structural analysis of materials from the micro- to atomic-scale using advanced transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques, including aberration corrected scanning transmission microscopy, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, Lorentz microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy, imaging processing etc. Help perform day-to-day oversight of activities on TEMs, including training of new users. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience in aberration corrected TEM, magnetic materials, and in-situ microscopy device design. Required Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. must be completed prior to start date.
