The Psychology Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology. This position is a 9-month tenure-track position.
St. Kate's Psychology Department is committed to excellence in research, service, teaching and mentoring women in STEM. The St. Catherine University Psychology Department is committed to supporting and challenging each student to develop their full potential as a confident, insightful, and collaborative problem solver who skillfully applies knowledge of psychological science to enrich their personal and professional life and to work for social justice in their communities and the world. The area of specialization is Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or closely related field.
Responsibility:
- Teach undergraduate Psychology courses.
- Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes by providing timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, advising and mentoring non-traditional and diverse students.
- Develop an active program of research and opportunities for student involvement in research
- Engage in service to the Psychology Department, School and University.
- Communicate in a timely way with the Department leaders for updates or changing course information.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and staff within and across Departments.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or closely related field, or All But Dissertation (ABD) with Doctorate completed by August 1, 2025
- Experience teaching and/or mentoring students
- Experience conducting research
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching Psychological Disorders and/or courses related to Counseling or Clinical Psychology, General Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, advanced Psychology research lab course
- Active research and a scholarly agenda with opportunities for student collaboration
- Applied experience in a counseling or clinical setting
- Knowledge of the licensure processes
- Commitment to mentoring, engaging and educating a diverse student population effectively
- Experience teaching or mentoring undergraduate students
- Experience teaching traditional college-aged students and adult students
- Experience teaching in a variety of formats (i.e., in-person, online)
