Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor- 2nd Shift (2:30pm-11:30pm). This is position based at our Horseheads, NY facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year.

What you’ll do:
The Production Supervisor will lead and direct hourly manufacturing employees on 2nd shift to achieve the plant goals focusing on safety, quality, on-time delivery, continuous improvement, productivity, and cost-out. Their primary responsibilities will include:
- Proactively implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Lead manufacturing team in achieving production schedule and exceeding customer expectations.
- Fully engage workforce and drive change by empowering business partners with decision making and involvement.
- Foster innovation and promote continuous learning and lean manufacturing.
- Maintain good employee relations and adherence to the Union-Management Labor Contract, and take proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required.
- Drive activities to reduce past due customer orders, scrap, rework and overtime cost while meeting quality objectives.
- Drive activities to improve on-time delivery, labor utilization, and productivity.
- Train, evaluate, coach, and develop subordinates utilizing the Continuous Improvement Framework Management System.
- Direct problem solving activities using 8D methodology.
- Maintain and consistently administer local policies to meet day to day operating requirements
- Conduct weekly team meetings to communicate vision, mission and priorities while encouraging improvement ideas from team.
- Lead and attend daily Tier Meetings at both shift and department levels.
- Ensure attendance and pay records are kept up to date and are accurate for assigned personnel. Includes OT equalization per CBA language
- Effectively communicates with the department engineers, planning and maintenance to support plant and departmental goals.
- Lead departmental projects/kaizens in support of goals.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of manufacturing leadership experience OR high school diploma/GED and a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Experience supervising or managing people in a union environment
- Experience with CNC Programming and electronics assembly
Skills:
- Ability to lead, train and motivate production team
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to be able to respond and deal with diverse employee-related situations
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and specified information
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software package
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel no more than 10% for occasional trainings
