GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Educator Preparation Programs Faculty is responsible for the development and implementation of the curriculum and instruction in the program areas of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Educator Preparation. This full-time faculty position works the equivalent of 30 load points per academic year that may be a combination of instruction, student teacher supervision, committee work, and other academic related activities. Provides academic and career advisement to Early Childhood and Elementary Education majors. Conducts extensive travel to NPC campuses, centers, and school-based settings throughout the NPC service area; serves on college committees; and engages in professional activities.
The Educator Preparation Programs faculty teaches courses and monitors practicum and student teaching experiences of the undergraduate courses within the Educator Preparation Programs departments, as well as other courses for which they are qualified and assigned; teaches in a variety of environments and modes (team-taught offerings, day offerings, evening offerings, online offerings, hybrid offerings, etc.) in accordance with course outlines and instructional procedures; integrates technology with instruction; assesses students in relation to institutional goals, program goals, and course objectives; maintains appropriately scheduled office hours; develops good working relationships with discipline-related professionals in the College's Service area; collaborates and participates in AZTransfer to foster transferability opportunities; serves as a community resource in area of expertise; and is active in one's field of expertise. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master's degree in Elementary, Early Childhood, or Special Education 2. One year of experience teaching in higher education; 3. State teaching certification; 4. Five (5) years teaching experience in a public school PreK-8th grade environment; 5. Knowledge of state and national standards for preservice teacher development. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Doctorate in Education; 2. Five (5) years of experience teaching in higher education, particularly using distance education tools; 3. Arizona Department of Education Literacy Endorsed; 4. Arizona Department of Education SEI Endorsed; 5. Experience in a birth to five setting. REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Arizona driver’s license and IVP Card with Level 1 Clearance (as required by ADE Certification and DHS licensing).
