Finisher/Painter - Military Veterans

Amentum is seeking a skilled Finisher/Painter to support a construction project contract located in Vienna, Austria.

• Location - Vienna, Austria
  
• Skill Set Requirements - familiarity with installing ceiling grid & tile, carpet, framing, drywall. Mostly finish carpentry
  
• Hours of Work per Day - 10hrs daily
  
• Days of the Week Worked - 6 days a week with Thursday off
  
• Start Time / Completion Time Daily - 8 AM to 6 PM
  
• Daily Per diem - $144
  
• Rate $45 to $50
  
• Lodging - Location - Amenities - Hilton Plaza in Vienna
  
• Transportation To and From the Site - Bus stop is outside the hotel. 3 stops to job site.
  
• Tools Required - string line, ceiling clamps, hand tools, knee pads, clamps, hard hat, gloves, proper work attire,
  

Responsibilities:

• Complete drywall finishing, including applying joint compound and sanding to smooth surfaces.

• Install and finish corner bead to protect and reinforce drywall corners.

• Work around devices and fixtures ensuring seamless blending with drywall surfaces.

• Construct and finish bulkheads to architectural specifications.

• Apply finishing techniques to ceilings using various methods.

• Achieve Schedule 5 finishes, ensuring surfaces are ready for final decoration.

• Perform painting tasks that include applying paints, varnishes, and stains to both interior and exterior surfaces.

• Properly caulk seams and corners to prevent gaps and add an aesthetic touch.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a painter, caulker, and drywall finisher.

• Proficient with drywall tools and techniques, including taping, sanding, and texturing.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

• Good physical condition and stamina to work in various environments and heights.

Skills:

• Excellent color vision and aesthetic intelligence.

• Manual dexterity and proficiency with power tools.

• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with other trades and team members.

• Time management skills to meet project deadlines efficiently.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor projects.

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

• Ability to lift heavy materials and work on scaffolding or ladders.

This role is vital in delivering a polished and professional finish to construction and renovation projects, ensuring surfaces are aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma
• 4 years working in the trade
• Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen
• A security clearance level of TSC/SCI is required at time of application.

Preferred Requirements:

• Construction Journeyman
• Overseas experience
